After our most succesful Sesh festival yet, The Hull Pie cannot WAIT to serve faster and better than ever before at this year's Freedom Festival! Make sure you hunt us down to get your pie fix at Hull's greatest event of the year!
This September will also see new developments in our relationship with the University of Hull. Always keen to support local businesses, the Student's Union are partnering with The Hull Pie to offer a Pie presence on campus over the coming months and it all begins at Fresher's Fayre this September.
We will be selling our deliciously hot pies with sides & gravy outside the Student's Union for 10 days from 22nd September.
Hi everyone, we’ve got some really important news regarding the closure of our hut outside St.Stephens
We want to start by thanking everyone for the support they have shown the Panini hut and us.
As most of you know, we have been trading from our little blue hut for almost 16 months, and in that time we have continued the great work the business had in the City centre.
Unfortunately, our last day of trading will be Sunday 3rd April.
In the Hull Daily Mail and on BBC Radio Humberside it was mentioned that we had already begun looking at new premises in town, and also that we have started work with trinity market for a new exciting street food and fresh produce market.
There are some new and exciting things about to happen in Hull and we want to be able to help other Hull traders be a part of them.
Keep watching this space, as Hull Pie will be popping up very soon in a new and exciting location with loads of other amazing traders. For now, please continue to support your local businesses. Actions speak a lot louder than words.
You can still find us at:
Pie2 - 202 Newland Avenue
The Pie Bakery - 408 Cottingham Road
York Farmers Market - Fourth Friday of every month
Humber Bridge Market - First Sunday of every month

We hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and New Year. 2015 was an amazing year for The Hull Pie, but we want to make 2016 even better.
As a way of saying thank you for your support over the last four years, we’re adding some exciting new pies to the menu. But first we want to tell you about the biggest change of all.
You may have noticed a change to the look of our pies. We are now using the more traditional method instead of wrapping them.
Why the change? Well this was 3-fold. Firstly, the feedback we got from you guys was that the folds of the wrap caused too many layers of pastry across the top. This occasionally caused an uneven bake of the pastry.
Secondly, wrapping our pies limited the range of flavours we could use because of the fact that we couldn’t use mixtures that were wet or made with sauce. By using this new method, we now have more options when it comes to adding new and exciting flavours to the menu! This is now why we can do better mixtures that don't get dry and can have creamier sauces.
Finally, most of the awards we aimed for this year came back with the same feedback: "Great flavour, great taste but too much pastry and uneven baking".
Other than the style of the pie, nothing else has changed. Our pies still have the same great taste you have come to expect from The Hull Pie, same pastry recipe and they still contain just as much filling.
Three of our new flavours will be introduced to the menu on Monday 11th Jan: Slow Roasted Lamb & Mint; Chicken, Ham & Mushroom with White Wine & Thyme Sauce; and a delicious vegetarian option in the form of our new Cauliflower & Broccoli Cheese Pie.
This will mean a slight change in the menu. The caramelised Red Onion & Potato pie, Jamaican Jerk Chicken and Chicken, Ham & Leek pies will no longer be available as of Monday 11th January. That’s not to say they’ll be gone for good, though! They may make special appearances throughout the year as specials, alongside other new flavours that we will be trialling in the future.
Speaking of specials - with the addition of a new manager in our bakery, we’ll be adding lots of new items to our already extensive sweets selection as we launch our new Sweetie Pie range of sweet treats. Most of these new additions will be available exclusively from The Bakery on Cottingham Road initially, but we will be bringing these items down to our Newland branch within a few months.
The best way to keep in the loop is by following us on Twitter and Facebook. You can also sign up to our mailing list to be the first to receive the latest Hull Pie news and promotions. See a member of staff for more details, or send an e-mail info@TheHullPie.co.uk with the title 'Opt In'.
As always, we would love to hear your feedback on the changes. We appreciate your feedback and we always listen to our customers. Email firstname.lastname@example.org
Let’s have another great year!
This Friday is an extra-special Pie day!
For one day only, The Hull Pie will have in stock a brand new, limited edition Game, Cider & Apple Pie, created especially for Viking FM's Cash For Kids Big Bake Day, with 10% of the proceeds being donated to the charity.
Cash for Kids is a network of charities operating across 21 areas of the UK.
Every year, millions of pounds is raised to support the needs of underprivileged children and young people living in our community, offering those who have suffered abuse, neglect or who are disabled a brighter future.
This Friday 18th September sees the Cash for Kids annual Big Bake Day taking place nationally. People across the country will be baking pies, cakes and everything in between, to sell in workplaces, community centres and schools raising money for this fantastic charity..
As a local business dedicated to helping to improve the lives of people in our community, Cash for Kids is a charity that The Hull Pie feels a great affinity with. All of the money raised in the area stays local, to help children and young people most in need in our community.
Our special Big Bake Day pies will be retail at our normal price of £2.95 and will be available in all three of our shops - Newland Avenue, Cottingham Road, and the Pie Hut outside St Stephens. It's an easy, tasty way for you to do your bit for this fantastic charity!
If you fancy organising a work lunch for a number of people, get in touch and let us know, we may be able to arrange delivery!
Together, we can make a difference.
The new football season is upon us, and tomorrow is an exciting day for City fans not just because their team faces its first Championship fixture of the season against Huddersfield, but also because, for the first time, they can now enjoy Hull's favourite gourmet pies at the game!
From tomorrow, our infamous Caramelised Beer and Brisket Pie will be available to home fans in all stands, but if you're hoping to score one yourself, be quick - only a limited supply are available, and when they're gone, they're gone!
This new partnership with the KC Stadium marks an exciting development for business owner, Matt, who has been a dedicated Hull City fan and season ticket holder for most of his life. Like most little boys, he dreamed of being a footballer, but now content with a kick about in the park, having his own pies on sale at his team's home ground must certainly be the next best thing!
Well it's been an amazing time in our first shop. When we started we were just an idea and now have grown more than we ever could have hoped. We will return to the old town/city centre soon but for now we say farewell to 19 trinity house lane and hello to new adventures .
Thank you for all who have supported us over the past 3 and a half years and we will still see you at our 3 other shops and plenty of events, festivals and weddings!
As always #pielove
It's been an incredible three and a half years getting the Hull Pie to where it is now. We have amazing staff, amazing customers and amazing pies (well, we think so!) . As a business we have grown beyond our wildest dreams. We have become a Hull firm favourite at events such as Freedom Festival or Humber St Sesh, voted Yorkshire's best food provider at the Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards, and even won awards at the British Pie Awards.
We never believed things would ever become so huge for Hull Pie and we aim to go even further over the next three and a half years.
We want to thank you all for sharing this journey with us but to get to the next part of the journey we have to make hard choices. We regret that at this point we have taken the decision to close our shop on Trinity House Lane. This is a sad day for us but we will return to the old town before too long. We have a deep appreciation for our loyal customers in the area and this isn't the end but simply a move we have to make so that we can grow beyond what we thought we ever could.
We have some amazing and exciting new ideas and plans for the future and hope you can join us to be part of them.

Pie 3 The Hut, St Stephen's Plaza

...and at many events around Yorkshire including weddings and festivals.
Please share the #pielove wherever you go and we will return to the old town with a fresh new look soon.
Thank you for helping us to reach this far and we hope you will continue to support us as we move towards the next phase of our venture.
Matt and the Gang
It's been an exciting year for us at The Hull Pie. In April 2014, we opened our second shop down Newland Avenue. In November, we opened our third shop; a blue little hut situated outside St.Stephens shopping centre in Hull. Earlier this year, we opened the doors of our bakery and fourth shop on Cottingham Road.
HullBID exists to help businesses in the city sustainably grow and progress, and we were delighted to win their award for outstanding business development.
Of course, this wouldn't be possible without our amazing customers! We would like to thank you for all of your support since we first opened our doors.
Here's to another amazing year!
